Orchestras.
EXCTING NEW REPERTOIRE FOR SRING 2010
The CAVMS (senior) orchestra repertoire is unique amongst youth orchestras
for its fantastic variety. For example, this term we are tackling the very
challenging Prelude to Act III from Lohengrin, parts of Mussorgsky's
Pictures at an Exhibition and further spicing our programme with the smash
hit TV show from the 60's Thunderbirds. These pieces will test all sections
of the orchestra and if we are successful, should provide an enthralling
concert. I have also had several requests from members to dig out The
English Folk Song Suite by Vaughn Williams.
You can hear all these in our next concert as well as our fabulous Jazz
Orchestra (CYJO) in The Gate Arts Centre (City Road) on Saturday 20th March
2010.
