The orchestras began in 1999, with the formation of the YPTO for young musicians. It rapidly became so successful that a senior orchestra, the CAVMS orchestra, was formed in September 2000. In 2010 we made the move to our new home at St Cyres School, Penarth, where the orchestra currently rehearse.
The concept behind the orchestra is a partnership between the very best in music educationists and professional musicians. Brian Weir conducts the Orchestra with the help of a first-class team of instrumental tutors and involving the widest possible repertoire available. Professional performing musicians visit regularly and make a valuable contribution.
Times
Wednesdays evenings 6.30-8.30 during term time.
Costs
All of the CAVMS ensembles cost £50 per term (Cheques payable to
YPTO). There is a £10 reduction for additional family
members.

Keep in the left lane by the Merry Harrier
but turn right, then immediately left onto
Redlands Rd. St Cyres is about half a mile
on the right, directly after a zebra
crossing. Turn right into St Cyres Rd then
right into the School. Follow the one way
system and drop students at the main school
