A valuable
contribution of orchestra funds goes to The McCarthy
Fund.
Jeff McCarthy,
known to his friends as Mac, sadly died five years ago,
depriving Cardiff of a wonderful musician and character.
His family requested that a fund should be set up in his
name to help children partake in musical activities. The
CAVMS orchestras were entrusted with this fund and
regularly re-stock it by means of fund-raising events.
The principle of
this charity is to allow children who have already
started playing a musical instrument to continue with
their studies if their families are struck by disaster
(bereavement, redundancy or long-term illness) and to
enable them to take part in music tours abroad.
CAVMS Ltd
handles all the administration for this charity free of
charge so every penny you give goes directly to children
suffering hardship. |
